His novel Death Games was the first action-adventure novel to make the New York Times bestseller list. His poetry was published in managzines and anthologies in Canada, US, Great Britain. He had over 100 radio, television and live appearances to read his own poetry. He was program director of,and taught poetry for, the Three Schools for the Arts in Toronto, was a resource person visiting high schools for the Ontario Arts Council and the League of Canadian Poets.
